Obsession / In This Together is the first EP from Touching the Void's album "Love, Longing and Loss" (Album due to be released early 2015) and released on 8th August 2014 from Sub Culture Records (SubCulture124) via digital download and limited CD.
Touching the Void are:
Andy Oppenheimer – Vocals and Mark Warner - Synths/Bass/Programming/Backing Vocals
Touching the Void was formed in 2010 when Andy was singing in Oppenheimer Analysis with Martin Lloyd, and when Mark was writing, recording and performing with Sudeten Creche. Mark has since gone on to produce songs with Rossetti's Compass and Andy also writes and records with Mahk Rumbae as Oppenheimer MkII.
These two songs are a preview of their forthcoming stunning album Love, Longing and Loss.
Obsession, written by Mark Warner, is a searing, heart-wrenching power ballad.
In This Together is a cover of the brilliant track written by Stephan Groth for Apoptygma Berzerk. Andy and Mark have dedicated this song to the memory of Martin Lloyd, who sadly died in April 2013.
There are also two fantastic remixes. Obsession, remixed by Technomancer and Angst Pop, is epic, filmic, and with more than a touch of thunderous, explosive menace.
In This Together, remixed by the legendary producer Matthias Schuster (Bal Pare, Im Namen Des Volkes, DAS INSTITUT, Geisterfahrer), is classic electro.
Additional instruments are piano by Andrew Hickey and drums by Don Wielogroch. All tracks were produced by Mark Warner, who recorded and mixed them at Le Jardin Electronique, England and they were mastered at The Cage by Martin Bowes.
The single is available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and also on a limited CD via Bandcamp.
Their first album Love, Longing and Loss is due for release later in 2014.
Out thanks to Jet Noir, Per Aksel Lundgreen Stephan Groth, Roy Julian Digre and Matthias Schuster
